Guru Nanak Dev ji was the founder of religion of sikhism and was the first guru of the ten gurus.
According to many sites like wikipedia , google and all ,it is written birthday of gurunanak dev ji's 15 april not 10 november but tomorrow is gurupurab(it is being celebrated).
I am bit confused in this.
and going to gurdwara is not a show off.Its our will we go or not and we go with full interest for our benefits only and not to show other people that we are going to gurdwara. so it is not show off.

Ya RD, it depends what you believe while you go to Gurudwara Sahib. Do you want to talk and meet friends or have fun? Or do you want to meet your guru and offer some service at the feet of guru and community?
ReplyDeleteAnd, http://www.sikhiwiki.org, says, "Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion, was born, according to all ancient Sikh records, in the early morning of the third day of the light half of the month of Baisakh (April-May) in the year A.D. 1469; but for convenience sake his anniversary is now observed by the Sikhs on the occasion of the full moon in the month of Kartik (October-November)." So it is just for sake of convenience as we have Baisakhi/Khalsa Foundation Day in April.
